The Baptism of the Lord

Our soul is prepared to receive the Holy Spirit of God, should we be willing to accept it. m de P
(Our Father…)

In those days John the Baptist appeared, preaching in the desert of Judea. Matthew 3:1
(Hail Mary…)

He said: “I am ‘the voice of one crying out in the desert, “Make straight the way of the Lord,”‘ as Isaiah the prophet said.” John 1:23
(Hail Mary…)

And this is what he proclaimed: “One mightier than I is coming after me.” Mark 1:7
(Hail Mary…)

I have baptized you with water; he will baptize you with the holy Spirit.” Mark 1:8
(Hail Mary…)

The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.” John 1:29
(Hail Mary…)

After Jesus was baptized, he came up from the water and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming upon him. Matthew 3:16
(Hail Mary…)

And a voice came from the heavens, saying, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:17
(Hail Mary…)

“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit” Matthew 28:19
(Hail Mary…)

“I did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘On whomever you see the Spirit come down and remain, he is the one who will baptize with the holy Spirit.’ Now I have seen and testified that he is the Son of God.” John 1:33 34

(Hail Mary…)

Jesus did this as the beginning of his signs in Cana in Galilee and so revealed his glory, and his disciples began to believe in him. John 2:11
(Hail Mary…)

“For this reason a man shall leave father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”  This is a great mystery, but I speak in reference to Christ and the church. Ephesians 5:31-32
